General Motors Corporation has recently announced a general recall of their 2005-07 Cadillac CTS vehicles. More than 95,000 vehicles are affected by this particular recall.

The recall stems from a problem with the passenger sensing system mat in the front passenger seat. Too much “kinking” of the mat is liable to break the connections inside, thus not allowing the air bag sensor to register a passenger in the front seat. The danger is the air bag would not deploy in the event of an accident.

GM is advising all affected customers to return their vehicles to their local dealer for a complete replacement of the passenger side sensor system at no cost. There has been no public announcement on the recall schedule to date.

Vehicle owners are invited to contact Cadillac at 1-866-982-2339.
